Why it's not enough to just check your battery
As we get into the winter months, most vehicle owners are very aware of testing their battery to assure their vehicle starting. What car owners forget to do is to also have their entire charging system checked as well.
Why is it important to check the entire charging system?
If your vehicle's charging system is not properly charging your battery, then the battery will have a reduced life span. Installing a new battery with a system that does not keep it properly charged will result in the premature failure of the batter.
Have your charging system tested annually. A good inspection should include testing the battery and charging system, inspection of the alternator belt, and a cleaning of posts and connectors. Batterly sealant should also be applied to battery terminals.
